Alcamo Marina in Sicily, Italy

Our family spent two weeks exploring the northwest of Sicily during the summer of 2014. Totally loved it. Great food, warm wind, great beaches, superb ice cream, wanderful coffee and super nice people. And plenty of small villages to explore!

We rented a house in Alcamo Marina, a short walk from the beach, with a splendid view out over the Mediterranean sea from the houses patio wich was protected from the sun by palm trees and lush greens.

Mr Rosario, the owner of the house, had a small garden with tomatos, cucumber, figs and olives by the house. He came by every other day to look after them and to see that we did not miss anything while staying in his house. The first morning he came by with deliciouse Sicilian pasteries from the local bacery. Filled with pistachio, fresh riccotta cheese, marmelade and other sweets, a treat that made us feel truly welcome in his house.

We had a wonderful vaccation and will most certain come back!
